Fox Movie Mall ~ A New Way to Buy Movies

Recently at Dolphin Mall in Miami, Fox debuted it’s newest way to purchase movies: the “virtual storefront.”

Twentieth Century Fox has announced a partnership with Taubman Properties, in order to put these virtual storefronts, or Fox Movie Malls in 18 malls across the nation.

The walls look like ads for Fox movies such as The Tooth Fairy 2 and Mr. Popper's Penguins.  Under the movie photos are Quick Response (QR) codes where customers can purchase the DVDs using their smartphones.  The movies are then automatically shipped home.

Not only can you buy DVDs using the “virtual storefront,” but when you snap a picture of certain movie characters using the Fox Movie Mall app, other cool movie options can be transmitted to your phone or tablet like links to YouTube videos or coloring pages for the kids.

There will also be lounge areas in the mall where customers can relax a bit while shopping!

At the event at Taubman’s DolphinMall, Alvin & The Chipmunks were the focus for the debut of this innovative app.  Seeing as I have some wannabe chipmunks in my house, this day was right up our alley!

Move over Alvin & Simon...here are some new chipmunks!

What Fox movie would you buy at the Fox Movie Mall
