"Little Ricky" is a picky eater. His main food group consists of anything in the shape of dinosaurs with breading. It's really annoying.
Once we got him to eat steak and he actually likes it. Now any kind of meat that we eat, I just call it steak and serve it with ketchup and all is good.
Sundays (aka, football days) are our fun eating days. We like to eat finger type foods and chips and dips. My husband calls it "buffet." The kids LOVE it!
Today my little chefs helped me to make pigs in a blanket. We used mini cocktail franks and Pillsbury Crescent Rolls. They loved rolling up the little hotdogs in the dough. "This one's a baby all wrapped up," is what "Little Ricky" said as he tucked one in the buttery dough.
They loved eating the favorite finger food....especially that they helped make them!
How do you get your picky eaters to make better choices?

Great idea! Isa is such a stubborn eater too. I just showed her these pictures of your boys making the pig and the blanket. I think they made the cut to be on the menu soon!
ReplyDeleteawesome idea..i love pigs in a blanket...so does toddie...hmm they can come over and make them for us anytime :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have 2 little boys as I do -- ages 61/2 and 8, and one a bit pickier than the other, though I can't say either eats a balanced diet. Anything green just doesn't go over well. I focus on fruits, but they're even picky there. And yes, dinosaur hot cereal or chicken nuggets. Out of despair, I resorted to a box of Lucky Charm for breakfast. Visiting and will follow from Wild Weds hop..!
